State Prehistoric/Archaeological Collection

The State Archaeological Collection, founded in 1885, gives an insight into prehistorical and early bavarian history. Artistically prepared everyday items, sacrificial offerings, burial gifts and finds from early settlements in Bavaria from the early stone age through to the middle ages are exhibited alongside finds from the mediterranean and the orient to show bilateral influences and parallels. Special exhibits also cover historical themes up to modern times.
