Weßlingersee
The Weßlinger Lake is the smallest of
the five lakes with only 500m diameter. It lies close to Munich
between the municipalities of Weßling and Oberpfaffenhofen.
The deciduous and conifer trees, as well as picturesque boat-houses,
cafes and beergardens are worth a daytrip at any time of year.
The only deficiency in this recreational area is the quality
of the water. As the Weßlinger Lake's only source of water
is an underground spring, swimming in the lake was forbidden
until a few years ago. Bathing is now allowed again, thanks
to an oxygenator in the middle of the lake.
Size/Water quality
500 m diameter with maximum 14 m depth
The water quality is still the worst around Munich
Recreational activities
Sunbathing, rowing boat rental, hiking paths, various restaurants
and kiosks etc.
How to get there
