Münchner Marionettentheater
(Puppet theater)

In 1858 Joseph Schmidt alias "Papa Schmidt" founded Europa's first puppet theater, which was built like a little palace. In the afternoon fairy tales and "Punch and Judy"-like shows (Kasperl) are put on for children in German. In the evening famous operas are performed for adults. Attention to detail and high artistic quality make a visit to this theater a very special experience for old and young.
